Trip Itinerary

1 day: Rabat Airport - transfer to Hotel

10 days desert tour from Rabat to Atlantic coast, will start by pick you up at Rabat airport, pick-up by the our driver, transfer to hotel .

2 day: Rabat - Volubillis - Fes

Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Meeting with your guide and visit to Rabat. Rabat is the political capital of Morocco and the main residence of the King.

We start with a visit to the Kasbah of Oudayas, with its pleasant blue and white streets and typical Andalusian gardens, where flowers bloom all year round.

Next up is the majestic Hassan Tower, once the minaret of the largest mosque in the world. All that remains of the mosque now are fragments of walls and pillars. Here is also the tomb of Mohammed V, the founder of modern Morocco, richly decorated with mosaics. If there is time, we will have the opportunity to visit the palace and admire its mighty entrance gates (the entrance to the palace is forbidden to outsiders).

Departure to Moulay Idris (2.5 hours), the holy city of the Moroccans, built around the tomb of the founder of the Idris dynasty (the first Moroccan dynasty) more than 12 centuries ago.

Visit the ruins of the town of Volubilis (UNESCO World Heritage Site), founded in the 1940s BC – one of the best preserved Roman ruins in North Africa. The huge ruins are set amidst scenic green fields. Impressive office buildings, palaces and baths, as well as splendid mosaics and sculptures, testify to the former greatness of the city, which was the administrative centre of the Kingdom of Mauritania.

Transfer to Fez (1.5 hours). dinner and overnight at the hotel.

3 Day: Full day tour in Fes
Breakfast at the hotel. Full day guided tour of Fez, the oldest of Morocco’s imperial cities. Founded shortly after the Arab invasion of North Africa and Spain, Fez soon became the religious and cultural centre of the country. The city was shaped by the influence of two cultures, Muslim Spain and the Arab East.

Old Fez takes you into the heart of Moroccan culture, where people in djellabas walk the narrow streets and donkeys are still the main means of transport.The old medina, the largest medieval Muslim city in the world, is a good starting point for exploring the city. The route takes you through the streets and bazaars of the old city, ancient caravanserais and artisan workshops.

We continue with a tour to the New Town of Fez and a walk through the Jewish quarter of Mellah. This was once home to the largest Jewish community in Morocco, but today it is practically in ruinsmosque and Qaraouin University, founded in the 9th century.

We will continue our journey of Morocco desert tours, admire the beautiful golden gates of the Royal Palace (the palace itself is forbidden to enter) and then climb the hill with the burial site of the Merinid dynasty, from where an impressive panoramic view of the old city is offered.

4 Day: Fes - Merzouga - Desert
Breakfast at the hotel, check out, and head for the Merzouga desert.

Today is the longest drive (7:30 hours), but before you know it you’ll be enjoying the ever-changing scenery. On the way, we’ll stop at the university and spa town of Ifrane, founded by the French during the Protectorate. the town the nickname “Moroccan Switzerland”. On the outskirts of Ifrane, we can admire the majestic Atlas cedars and feed wild sausages.

Stop for lunch at Midelt (extra charge). We then travel through the gorge and the Ziz River valley, and the landscape becomes desolate as we approach Er-Rachidia.

Arriving at the small village of Merzouga, at the foot of the white sand dunes, we take only the essentials and board a desert camel that will take us to a real Bedouin camp in the middle of the dunes (the walk takes about an hour). On arrival at the camp, we will stay in tents with comfortable beds, private showers and toilets. As darkness falls, we are treated to a hearty Moroccan dinner (included in the price), Bedouin singing around the campfire and watching the incredibly beautiful starry sky.

Overnight in desert tent includes breakfast and dinner.

5 Day: Merzouga desert to Skoura - Dages Gorge

We wake up with the first rays of the sun to see the sunrise over the majestic and silent sand dunes.

This moment will be one of your most powerful experiences in Morocco! After breakfast with a strong Bedouin tea, we will return to the village on camelback and continue by car. On the way, we will stop at a “fossil factory” where we will see the many fossils that this region is rich in. After about 3 hours we will stop for a panoramic photo in the small picturesque town of Tingir in the middle of a large palm oasis. Nearby is the famous Todra Gorge, which is crossed by a river. Its steep walls reach heights of up to 400 m and are only 10 m wide at their narrowest point. Walking tour of the gorge and lunch in a local restaurant (extra charge). Continue to the Skoura oasis on the outskirts of Ouarzazate via the Dades River valley and the famous rose-growing town of Kelaat Maguna.

6 Day: Skoura - Ouarzazate to Marrakech

Breakfast at the hotel and check-out.

Optional (extra charge): 2-hour walk in the Skoura oasis. Skoura is a fertile palm oasis cut by several rivers. Amidst the date palms and desert landscape, you will find villages and gardens of olive, pomegranate and fig trees.

On our way, you will see many ancient kasbahs (fortified houses made of adobe), which have earned this valley the nickname “Valley of 1000 kasbahs”.

Transfer to Ouarzazate (30 min) Ouarzazate is often referred to as “Morocco’s Hollywood”, as many historical films have been filmed here, including Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, Jesus of Nazareth, etc. An exterior view of the Taurirt Kasbah, which belonged to the powerful Glaoui Pasha clan in the last century. The impressive kasbah is made up of 20 parts-riads, but only a small part of it, the part restored by UNESCO, is open to visitors.

Transfer (20 min) to the town of Ait Ben Haddou ksar (castle) (UNESCO monument), one of the oldest and most magnificent castles in Morocco. It was once a trade route from the Sahara through the Atlas Mountains to Marrakech, carrying salt, gold, silver, and slaves, and served as a resting place and protection for caravans in numerous kasra and kasbahs. Lunch at a local restaurant.

Then continue our Morocco desert tours, Drive on to Marrakech via the highest pass of the Atlas Mountains, the 2260m Tizi-n-Tishka Pass (3.4 hours with stops.) This is one of Morocco’s most scenic roads, offering views of green river valleys, earth villages and ancient kasbah ruins.

7 day: Guide tour of Marrakech

Breakfast at the hotel. Guided tour of Marrakech. Marrakech is the tourist capital of Morocco and a city of legends that inspires artists and fashion designers. This sunny oasis under crystal blue skies against a backdrop of snow-capped mountain peaks artfully combines the treasures of a rich past with the vibrant energy of modern cultures.

We begin our tour with a visit to the Majorelle Garden, owned by the famous fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent Afterwards, we will see the symbol of Marrakech – the 12th century Koutoubia Mosque (view from the outside, entry is forbidden to non-Muslims). Take a stroll through the city’s main square, Jemaa el-Fna, where life pulses day and night. Here you’ll find all the colours of Morocco’s tourist capital: snake charmers and monkey tamers, gnaoua musicians and acrobats, henna painters and fortune tellers, water vendors and traditional healers, date and orange juice sellers.

8 Marrakech to Essaouira

Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Today our 10 desert tour from Rabat to Atlantic coast, will take you to explore the charming seaside town of Essaouira, just 3 hour’s drive from Marrakech. Along the way we will stop to take photos of goats in the argan trees, see argan oil being handmade in a women’s cooperative and taste.

On arrival in Essaouira, we stop for lunch of fresh seafood at a pleasant restaurant in Essaouira (extra charge).

After lunch, a guided walking tour of Essaouira’s old town. The sound of waves, the cries of seagulls and the narrow old streets with a strong sense of the past create a melancholic atmosphere. Set against a backdrop of artists, musicians and surfers, Essaouira is full of artisan shops, boutiques and galleries selling African masks and Moroccan designer clothes, colourful ceramics and original handbags, naive paintings and scrap metal figurines, musical instruments and Gnahua accessories. the ancient Portuguese fortifications with their towers and cannons, the Jewish quarter and a cabinet maker’s workshop.

After checking into our hotel, we still have free time for a leisurely walk and leisurely shopping in the medina.

9 Day: Essaouira Oualidia El Jadida

Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. Transfer to Oualidia (2.5 hours), a small fishing and resort village on the shores of a unique lagoon over 8 km long. Its warm, calm waters provide an optimal environment for the cultivation of oysters. This is why Oualidia is one of the best places in Morocco for oyster and seafood lovers. Oyster tasting and lunch at the seafood restaurant (surcharge). Optional: boat trip around the lagoon.

Transfer to El Jadida (1.5 hours). El Jadida (old name “Mazagan”). The center of the town is the 16th-century Portuguese fortress (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Its quiet, dilapidated streets are largely devoid of tourists and time seems to have stood still here. Visit the underground cistern on the grounds of the fortress, once a water warehouse and storage facility. Gothic vaults and a beam of light reflecting in the water create a unique effect. The site has served as the setting for several films, the most famous of which is Orson Welles’ Othello.

10 Day: Return Flight From Casablanca - Or Rabat Airport
