Trip Itinerary:

1 day: Rabat - Maknes - Volubilis - Fes

Begin your journey from Fes as we pick you up from your Riad and head towards the desert, passing through the scenic slopes of the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop is Ifrane, known as ‘Little Switzerland,’ a charming town with alpine-style architecture, popular with skiers. Next, we pass through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas, where you can spot and interact with Barbary Macaques, the only primate species north of the Sahara.

We continue through mountain villages, arriving in Midelt for lunch. Nestled between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains, Midelt is a pastoral town surrounded by orchards. After lunch, we journey through the Ziz Valley, one of the largest oases in Africa, known for its extensive date production. Passing through Erfoud, famous for its fossils and known as ‘The Gate to the Sahara,’ we make our way to the Erg Chebbi dunes.

You’ll spend the night at a luxurious desert camp, complete with comfortable beds, a home-cooked Berber dinner, and a stunning night sky filled with stars, before embarking on your desert adventure the following day.

3 Day: Explore Merzouga desert

The day is dedicated to exploring the eastern Sahara desert in a 4×4 vehicle. We’ll visit nomad families who will welcome us with a cup of tea and possibly some bread baked in their makeshift ovens, offering insight into their way of life. Next, we’ll head to Khamlia, a village known for its dark-skinned residents, where we can enjoy their captivating Gnawa music and folk songs.

From there, we will visit Rissani market, which thrived as a separate kingdom called Sijilmassa from the 8th to the 14th century, thanks to prosperous caravan routes from Mali’s capital, Tombouctou, to various Moroccan cities. Unlike tourist souks, this market serves the local population, and it grows to double its size three times a week when farmers and nomads gather to sell animals, vegetables, dates, and other goods.

After a traditional lunch in one of the village restaurants, we’ll embark on a camel trek across the beautiful Erg Chebbi dunes. As the sun sets on the horizon, we’ll ride our camels through the desert for a magical evening. Once we settle into the camp, we can relax under a sky filled with stars while our guides prepare a fresh and delicious Berber dinner. Weather permitting, a campfire will be lit, and we can enjoy music outdoors to complete the experience.

4 Day: Merzouga - Rissani - Boumalen Dades

Our 5 days tour to Merzouga from Rabat start the day by witnessing the spectacular sunrise over the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, a perfect photo opportunity. After breakfast at the desert camp, try your hand at sandboarding before we ride camels back to the town. From here, we begin our journey to Dades Valley, passing through scenic palm groves. Along the way, we’ll visit Kheterra, an ancient underground irrigation system that once supplied water to local farmers. Though dry today, you can still explore the tunnels.

We’ll stop for lunch at a restaurant in a Berber village, enjoying traditional cuisine. Afterward, we continue to the Todra Gorge, a highlight of the trip. This stunning canyon, carved through the High Atlas Mountains, offers a chance to walk along its floor, surrounded by towering cliffs that rise dramatically on either side.

Finally, we arrive at the beautiful Dades Valley, known for its panoramic views of a fertile landscape framed by rugged mountains. You’ll end the day here, soaking in the natural beauty of this tranquil spot.

5 Day: Boumalne Dades - Ouarzazate - Marrakech

After breakfast, we travel to Skoura and then we visit Ouarzazate and its Atlas studio. also visit the Kasbah of Taouirt and then we continue to Ait Ben Haddou. many movies were filmed here such as Lawrence of Arabia, Jesus of Nazareth, and Gladiator.
