Casablanca is the economic capital and the largest city of Morocco with a population of 3.5 million people.
We will begin our Excursion from Casablanca to Rabat. tour of the city from its main attraction, the Hassan II Mosque with the second tallest minaret in the world (external tour and guided tour inside the Mosque). The mosque was built in 1993 with public money. It is a true marvel of modern architecture and engineering and its scale and splendor are amazing.
Then we will have a city tour showing the Corniche promenade with numerous cafes, bars and restaurants, the colonial quarter built in the 1920s with its fascinating art deco and neo-Moorish style architecture, the white-washed Sacré Coeur Cathedral (nowadays not functioning), the lively square of the United Nations and the Habous quarter or “new medina” with a neat souvenir market and the royal residence.
Lunch at a restaurant in the bastion of the old medina of Casablanca and transfer to Rabat (1-1.5 hours).
Excursion from Casablanca to Rabat., the political and cultural capital of the Kingdom. We will begin with a visit to the imposing Hassan Tower, which was supposed to be the minaret of the largest mosque in the world, and the mausoleum of King Mohammed the Fifth, the founder of modern Morocco, richly decorated with mosaics. After that we will visit the mysterious necropolis fortress of Shella, which preserves traces of the Roman era. Here you will learn about some of the magical rituals and beliefs of the locals and see dozens of storks that have built their nests right on the ancient ruins.
On the way, we will look at the royal palace and wonder at the size of the main residence of the Moroccan monarch.
Then we will visit the kasbah (fortress) of Udayas with its cozy white and blue streets, Andalusian garden, and a Moorish café serving aromatic mint tea with Moroccan sweets. At the end of the Excursion from Casablanca to Rabat. tour, we will enjoy a panoramic view from the fortress over the ocean, the Bouregreg riverbed, and the city of Salé.
